On January 15th 2007 we were approached by Roger Hargreaves and offered the long term loan of Bristol Britannia G-ANCF (Charlie Fox). Charlie Fox has been dismantled for nearly 20 years now and has long been in need of a permanent home. With stops at Manston, Brooklands, Banwell and finally Kemble, time was running out and this rare and beautiful aircraft was in serious danger of being scrapped. Since Speke was a very active place for Eagle aircraft in the 1960's, Charlie Fox is certainly an appropriate aircraft for the site. With initial discussions out of the way and with permission secured from the Marriott Hotel that now occupies the old terminal buildings at Speke - we were all set. This is a huge and somewhat daunting project and we need all the help we can get. From businesses able to offer financial support, materials or equipment to enthusiasts who can wield a paintbrush - we need you all! We would like to thank the Marriott Hotel (Liverpool South) for their continued support, in particular the Hotel Manager Matt Byram, Operations Manager Emma Steel and Property Manager Ken Bennett who always find time in their already hectic schedules to accommodate us. None of our projects would have been possible without their very generous support. We still need lots of help. We need more volunteers, equipment, and hard cash! If you think you can help, please contact Roy Coates on 07721 638311. If you would like to come and see Charlie fox for yourself, you are more than welcome! Please see the "Visit Us" page for details. On the Diary page, you will find information and pictures describing the restoration of Charlie Fox. Please Click Here for the Diary page.
