Hawker Sea Hawk FGA.6 WV838

Scheduled to arrive at Speke in late summer this year (2007), WV838 is a slightly odd exhibit in that the cockpit and nose section is from one aircraft (WV838) and the remainder of the aircraft is from XE339.

WV838 was built in 1954, crashed during a formation takeoff in 1959 and spent 40+ years in a ditch at a scrap metal merchants yard in Chippenham before finally being rescued. The fuselage was beyond hope but the nose and cockpit section was brought up to Liverpool at the end of 2002 where it was restored. The full story can be found BY CLICKING HERE.
